Toyota Adventure in Wrightsville Beach/Wilmington

Last weekend, TJ and I packed up our weekend bags and headed to the coast in the new 2016 Toyota Camry.  We had the opportunity to test drive it for the weekend and had the best time! We've always loved taking a weekend during December to spend at the beach.  There is something about the simplicity, non-existent crowds of people, and feeling like you have the island to yourself that makes going to the beach in the off-season really special, especially during one of the busiest and craziest months of the year!

On Friday, we packed up the car and hopped in to the Camry, checking out all of the cool new features.  We immediately found the best XM radio stations and jammed out to 90's and 2000's hit stations.  TJ also texted my phone funny messages and the car would read them aloud instead of you having to look at your phone.  How cool is that? That was definitely one of my favorite features.  I also loved how the side mirrors would blink when a car was in your blindspot and one of the coolest things was how the car's high beam lights would turn on and off automatically when a car was in sight.  It took so many of my everyday driving tasks and made the car do it for me.  I was really impressed.

We ended up staying at the Holiday Inn Resort in Wrightsville Beach.  It had live music Friday and Saturday night and always had something fun going on.  We met up with one of my best friends, Helen, on Saturday and hung out with her for a while.  It was so nice getting to see her and catch up.  We ate one of the best breakfasts at King Neptune before venturing off to Airlie Gardens.  We then drove to downtown Wilmington for a little while to explore.  Once we worked up another appetite, we headed back to the beach to eat at Bluewater.  The first time I ate at Bluewater was for my best friend's bachelorette weekend, which you can read about here! The food at Bluewater is amazing. You can scroll down to the bottom of the post for details on what we had!

On Saturday night, we bought tickets to Enchanted Airlie which is basically a huge beautiful piece of land with gardens decorated with Christmas lights.  We needed that long walk after our dinner at Bluewater.  It was so romantic and they really went all out with the lights.  We wanted to see the live music back at the hotel so we went back to catch an hour or so of that.

Overall, we had a fabulous weekend and we were thoroughly impressed with all that the Toyota Camry had to offer.  I thought it would be similar to the car I currently drive but the features made it so much better. Not to mention, the inside was gorgeous! I loved how the seats were suede.  Oh, and we went there and back with one tank of gas.  Can't beat that.  If I were in the market for a new car, I would definitely consider a 2016 Toyota Camry.

Also,  I wanted to share a few snaps from my phone so scroll down to check them out!

I was loving this gigantic Christmas tree as soon as you walk into the hotel.
