Each year around the end of March/beginning of April, I begin to think about when I can fit in some quick weekend beach trips. There is something so calming and rejuvenating about time spent by the sea. Luckily, I have one planned at the end of April but until then, I'll be keeping an ongoing packing list in the back of my head. Of course, I love to bring colorful floral outfits and flowy dresses but there are a few items that are more important not to forget while packing.

A Must-Have Under $40 Scalloped Skirt
Welcome to a new week, everyone! I hope y'all had a happy Easter weekend. I got to see some good friends on Friday night and visited my family at their campsite at the lake Saturday. We made s'mores and had a lot of delicious grilled food. I spent the majority of Sunday preparing for a week away in Delaware for my job. Speaking of business, today's outfit reminds me a little of a spring work appropriate outfit but also on the more casual side. This scalloped skirt is an appropriate length and when paired with a nice blouse, can really make for a great work outfit option for spring and summer. This scalloped skirt comes in pink, black, olive, and a light beige and is priced at under $40!

3 Spring Looks with Goodnight Macaroon
Happy Friday, y'all! Today I am sharing three springtime looks with Goodnight Macaroon! Each outfit consists of fairly simple pieces but I tried to add some affordable accessories to spice things up a bit. Goodnight Macaroon always has new arrivals coming in and a lot of really unique pieces that you won't find anywhere else. They also have frequent flash sales too so if you see something you like, I'd check back often! Take a look at these three simple looks I put together and let me know which one is your favorite for spring!

The Only Wedges You'll Ever Need
Happy Monday, friends. Today's post involves two things I've been wanting for a while now. I finally treated myself to them and now I'm here to share how much I love them! I've been eyeing these wedges since this time last year. I knew they would be great quality and comfortable because they are by UGG but I didn't know I'd love them this much! They wrap around the ankle and then tie in a bow in the back which definitely makes them stand out. I also was so happy to find that this floral print scuba dress was 40% off now. I normally don't like to buy dresses that are over $100 so I waited until it was on sale and luckily, they still had all sizes available! I am wearing a 2 in this one for reference.

Happy Friday!
Happy Friday, y'all! I'm excited for the weekend but I'm a bit sad it's supposed to rain the whole time. It will be a good weekend to get some apartment cleaning and decorating done, finally. I ordered a bunch of art prints in the mail from Minted so I can't wait to hang them up in frames above the couch.
I know some of you all don't follow me on Instagram (@prettyinthepines) or use LiketoKnow.it so I wanted to do a little round-up of my latest photos because not all of these outfits make it to the blog. The majority of these are all on sale too! Have a great weekend!

The Best Spring Top
I've found my new favorite print of all time. I'm not entirely sure if its palm leaves of pine leaves but either way, it is adorable and in my favorite color. Oh, and it is priced at under $25. If you don't love this color or pattern, it comes in an assortment too! I love this top because although it is a tank top, you can wear it under a jacket, cardigan, etc. too and still be able to see all of its beautiful details like the peplum hem and pattern.

What's In My Bag?
A good quality handbag might seem to be a woman's best friend but it is really what is hiding inside that makes all the difference. I've always been known to have a lot of things in my bag, including some unusual things. One time I remember my friend, Emily, and I laughed when we were at a sushi restaurant and I pulled out a wooden box of personalized Japanese chopsticks I had casually stored in my bag. I could probably live out of my bag and my car currently with the shape it is in right now (note to self: clean out car today!). There are, however, a few standard everyday items I keep with me that I feel any woman could use to make their life a little easier and today I wanted to share them with you all!

Spring Uniform
Everyone has their "go-to" outfit. Some people prefer jeans and a t-shirt, some prefer workout clothes, and some prefer dresses. I would say I definitely prefer dresses over everything else in my closet (ok, minus my large t-shirts and leggings) but not just any dress. My #1 favorite type of dress is a comfortable, flowy, breathable dress with a high neck. Why high neck? It covers more and you don't have to worry about having a sunburned chest once cookout and outdoor season comes. Why dresses? They're so easy! You can throw one on and instantly look put together. Why loose and free flowing? My family has a lot of cookouts this time of year and I like to eat. This print mock neck shift dress meets all the criteria to be a comfortable and cute spring/summer go-to outfit for me.

Be More Like Nick
I have not posted in about a week and I, honestly, have had way too many thoughts and emotions in the past week to even consider writing about the things I normally post about on here. My family lost a very special 26 year old cousin of mine, a husband, a son, a brother and friend to many on March 9th and I have never experienced something so devastating in my life before. I couldn't go on with my normal posts without getting some of my thoughts out onto paper (or computer) about what has been overtaking my entire mind and heart the past week.

Spring Work Attire
Last Thursday, I attended an event at J. McLaughlin in Chapel Hill that a couple local friends of mine hosted. I've talked about J. McLaughlin before and what I still love about this brand is the quality of their clothing as well as the colors! If you walk inside this store, you'll see bright pastels and classic, timeless pieces lining the walls that'll make you feel like you should probably go take a vacation in the Hamptons or somewhere.

PITP Fridays
Yay for the weekend! It's been a busy week. I've had family from Rhode Island in town last weekend and this weekend, blog events, some wedding stuff, job changes, and more. The weeks seem to just fly by lately so I want to start dedicating some Friday blog posts to take a moment to slow down, share a little bit about my personal life updates, interesting posts I've read, and weekly outfit recaps.

My Shopbop Shopping Cart
I've always been a big planner when it comes to fashion, even way before I started this blog. I like to try and plan my outfits seasons in advance for specific trips or occasions - or at least get a general idea of what I'm going to be wearing. Lately, I've had my mind on warm weather, trips to the beach, and one-pieces! Isn't that comforting knowing that one-pieces are so in again? Well, it doesn't quite mean you can just take it easy on the spring workout plan. These one-pieces are still sexy but have a more conservative approach to them than bikinis and I love it!

Bouquets & Bubbly Party
You might have read the sneak peek post of Bouquets and Bubbly, a Galentine's Day event hosted by Kendra Scott, Southern Style, and myself, at The Glass Box in downtown Raleigh last month (how is it already March?!). Events with Kendra Scott are always so much fun but being able to plan one with them was even better! I've always loved planning parties focused around a specific occasion and what better time to throw a girly soiree than Galentine's Day?! Thank goodness for Megan Kerns Photography who was able to capture the entire night in these gorgeous photos! You'll have to check out the other amazing vendors who helped make the night a success: Flowers and Flour, Paintbar, The Cupcake Shoppe, Sugar Euphoria, and Stephanie Shives Studio.
