If you haven't had a chance to take a look at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, you should head over there right now! Out of all of the sale sections in the entire store, the shoes would have to be my absolute fave. Why is it best to buy them this week? At the end of the week, the sale will open up to non-cardholders and things will sell out very quickly, if not already! Good quality shoes that will last and get you through the fall and winter are the best thing to buy in this sale, in my opinion. These are all of my top favorites and these & these both came home with me this weekend.

What to Wear to: A Beyoncé Concert

Last week I was surprised with last minute tickets to the Beyoncé concert in Raleigh and it was the best night! My fiancé knows how much I love her so he got some tickets the day of the concert and then I decided to get one for my little sister since it was her birthday. I had seen Beyoncé once before about 6 years ago and that night was honestly one of my most favorite nights! I've been a huge fan ever since the Destiny's Child days and each time I see her, I am reminded of how freaking amazing she is. Since her tour just started not too long ago, I wanted to share some tips on what to wear incase any of y'all have plans to see her this summer!

I've always been a big planner when it comes to fashion, even way before I started this blog.  I like to try and plan my outfits seasons in advance for specific trips or occasions - or at least get a general idea of what I'm going to be wearing.  Lately, I've had my mind on warm weather, trips to the beach, and one-pieces! Isn't that comforting knowing that one-pieces are so in again? Well, it doesn't quite mean you can just take it easy on the spring workout plan. These one-pieces are still sexy but have a more conservative approach to them than bikinis and I love it!

Can y'all believe it is September already?  This month is always my favorite.  I tend to look at September as the start to a new "year" rather than January for some reason.  Maybe its because school starts then or maybe its because my birthday is this month, starting an actual new year for me.  September is also a huge month for fashion which I l o v e. This time of year gets me really excited to start scrolling around my favorite retailers sites, flip through style magazines, and see what new fall trends are at my top stores.  It's easy to want to buy the trendiest fall pieces but this year I'm really trying to stick to the basics.

I was browsing through the internet the other day and I stumbled upon this dark ruffle bikini that I actually had bought last summer. I couldn't believe it was still available online in all sizes so I wanted to share with y'all one of my all time favorite swimsuits.  It's definitely a style from last year which makes it even better because it is about half the price I got it for last summer. I love how the bottoms provide family-friendly butt coverage and I don't even think the top needs an explanation.  It's just so darn cute.

Another favorite that is back in stock - this shift dress for only $29 is back and available in both teal and coral for those hot summer work days or even church.  It's definitely my #1 favorite thing to wear to work.

Happy Friday! I'm headed to the beach tomorrow with my family so I thought it would appropriate to share my current beach wish list.  I'm looking forward to a fun and much needed relaxing week and I can't wait to spend quality time with some of my favorite people. Family beach trips are probably my number one favorite childhood memory and the fam just keeps growing which makes them even more exciting.

Incase you haven't heard, Nordstrom started their HUGE half-yearly sale yesterday so I rounded up some of my favorites above.  Everything above is between 25-40% off and rarely on sale.  I've been in need of a new watch and wallet lately and the ones I've listed here are my top favorite options.  Also, Kendra Scott jewelry on sale?! I think the warmer weather is here to stay! (*crosses fingers*).  I have quite a few trips to the beach planned this summer and I can't help but think ahead of what I'm going to pack!  There are a few trends I've been seeing a lot of lately: tassels and pom-poms... and I don't hate either! Embellished sandals are also really in this year and I've seen a TON of really cute ones at Target for under $30 like these.  I've always loved anything palm print so when I saw this palm bikini, I had to share it with y'all! 

I hope everyone had a happy Easter yesterday.  I played some tennis, baked some berry scones, and prepared for the week ahead because it is going to be a long one.  Speaking of Easter, if you are in the Raleigh area and are looking for a church to go to- I highly recommend Hope.

Black is always in style and one should always have a go-to little black dress in their closet.  Trust me, I am ALL about colorful clothes, pinks and teals, but sometimes the look of a classic black dress is all you need to feel confident and beautiful.  This past weekend, I was helping out with a good friend's wedding and was asked to wear a black dress.  Well, at the time, I really didn't have many black dresses and wasn't quite sure what to wear.  I ended up looking on Rent the Runway (as usual for these types of events) and wore this Trina Turk Sonoma Lace Laurel Dress. I loved the lace peplum detail and I felt different wearing all black and no pink or patterns.  It was a good different though.  There are so many gorgeous black dresses that I am loving this season especially this French Connection Crepe Frill Hem dress.  

Today, I have the day off work and plan on getting A LOT done around my apartment.  I am looking forward to this spring weather this week and am so happy that April is here.  April is actually a pretty non-busy month for me and I am pumped about it.

Earring Essentials

If I had to choose one place to go buy some everyday, simple but elegant, light-weight and budget-friendly earrings, I would choose Kohls... simply for the LC Lauren Conrad collection! I've always found some of my favorite earrings to be in her collection and although they aren't made to last as long as fine jewelry, they are just what I need most of the time.  They are perfect to wear to work all day because they are gorgeous yet not going to pull your ear lobes down like some jewelry.  They are pretty light-weight making them comfortable to wear and beautiful.  You can almost ALWAYS find them on sale too.  I've linked up some of my favorites above!

Also, this past weekend I discovered a special kind of paint- chalk paint.  I will post a tutorial on using it later this week but I am truly obsessed with it now.  I want to paint everything in sight! Just kidding, but not really.  I can't wait to share with you what I've done this past weekend with some old furniture.

New Years Eve is just around the corner and I finally have some solid plans made to ring in 2015.  The only part I don't have figured out yet is what exactly I'm going to wear.  New Years Eve is that one night (besides your birthday) when you can go above and beyond your normal holiday attire.  I'm talking sparkles, feathers, embellished jewels, lace, etc.  I am looking forward to SO many things in the next year and cannot wait to spend the last night of 2014 with some of my favorite people.  But first, let's all have a wonderful week before Christmas! How is it already time? I can't wait to take some time off work and relax with my family this week.  I also have a little weekend Anniversary getaway to my favorite spot next weekend planned.  Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

I am SO ready for Thanksgiving this week and can't believe the year is almost over. I'm starting to get in the holiday spirit and have been making lists of what I can get people for Christmas. I put together a list of ideas for the ladies in your life- your mom, sister, bestie, etc. My entire family besides my dad is a girl, so, I could use endless gift ideas around this time of year. FYI I finally learned how to label these photos with numbers, thank ya Jesus. And thanks to the girls I met in the Social Media with Style Workshop by Lauren aka my mom in the blog world. She is amazing, teaches you how to analyze everything about social media and if you're new to social media marketing and/or blogging, I would definitely recommend her workshops. Today is my favorite woman's birthday so I thought I'd do a post about gift ideas for your mom, grandma, bff, etc.  I love treating my mom to a great gift because there is no other person who has done SO much for me.  If anyone deserves a special day, it's moms and dads. I like to give a really thoughtful gift, something I know she would love but maybe wouldn't ever find herself.  Personally, my mom loves cooking, wine, turquoise, running, and working in the yard.  One of my favorite gift ideas lately is this state cutting board from A Heirloom where you can find ANY state shape.  These would be a great wedding gift too! Get this look for WAY less!

It has been far too long since I've walked into Vestique and I feel like I hit the jackpot on my trip there today. I immediately fell in love with this cobalt ruffle off-the-shoulder dress that I had seen recently at Revolve Clothing for almost $100 more! I couldn't believe how identical these two dresses were, yet so different in cost! Not to mention, Vestique's accessories are on point right now, such as this "Fringe Benefits Necklace" which is only $21.50.  I put together a "look for less" below where you can see a very similar outfit with some not so similar prices (over $500 difference).   I've linked all the items below the picture for you to shop!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Happy FRIDAY! It is also the first day of Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale, unless you have a Nordstrom credit/debit card, in which case I am sure you have already done some damage.  I've never really realized how great of a sale this is... it's not your typical 'getting close to the end of summer so let's get rid of everything' sale.  These are brand new FALL products that have been marked down until August 4th.  It's the perfect time to start thinking about cooler months ahead and treat yo'self to some fall staples, such as some suede booties or faux fur vest.  I've shared some of my favorites down below.  Check out the sale for yourself at Nordstrom!
