Stripes + Leopard

Striped Long-sleeve Turtleneck: Old Navy; Watch: c/o HandPicked; Black Riding Boots: Ralph Lauren; Sheath Dress: Cynthia Rowley; Infinity Scarf: c/o HandPicked; Messenger Clutch: c/o HandPicked

It has been pretty chilly these last few days, but that shouldn't keep you from wearing one of your favorite casual dresses... all you have to do is layer the right way.  I love the way a turtleneck looks underneath a sleeveless dress.  I definitely wore that when I was 6 years old but it still somehow looks good, at least in my opinion. A few days ago, I mixed all sorts of patterns together to create this layered look.  This black messenger clutch bag from HandPicked is my new favorite bag to bring on-the-go.  It might look small on the outside but it opens up to three HUGE pouches to put all my stuff in.  I took it to an engagement party last weekend and it was perfect for the occasion. Personalize it with your friend's initials and voila! It is definitely a great little Christmas gift that will get a lot of use.  Another wonderful gift idea is a scarf... I am loving this leopard infinity scarf and at $21.00, you can't go wrong.  Head over to HandPicked to check out their amazingly affordable and adorable selection!

Shelby

White + Grey

Poncho: Calvin Klein (Found at Marshall's for 1/2 off); White Denim: Old Navy; Booties: Alex Marie; Watch: c/o HandPicked; Earrings: c/o HandPicked; Lip Color: Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Rose Tea
I can't seem to get enough ponchos this season... they are just so warm, cozy, and classic.  I would wear one every single day if I had enough of them.  This past weekend I decided to wear white denim (yes, after Labor Day- life is too short to live by silly fashion rules) with this grey and white poncho.  I definitely think the way to wear white in the fall/winter is to pair it with very neutral colors such as tan, grey, or black.

I also accessorized this look with a beautiful watch and monogrammed earrings from HandPicked.  Handpicked is wonderful company that specializes in monogrammed gifts and handcrafted jewelry.  It truly is one of my favorite places to shop when trying to find a birthday or Christmas gift for a friend or sister.  There is just something that feels so special and personal when receiving a gift from Handpicked.  I am dying to order these adorable embroidered stockings for Christmas this year.  These monogrammed earrings are the perfect personalized gift for a friend and I am probably going to wear them every day to work.  So, with the holiday shopping season upon us, go ahead and check out HandPicked's perfect gift selection!

Quilted Jackets

With cooler weather finally coming around, it is about time to start looking for a winter coat! There are so many different types of coats out there but one that I've always liked for a more casual look is a quilted coat.  I just love how insulated and warm they are without being too thick! I found this one I'm wearing in the photos at... guess... Marshall's, my weakness.  This one is by Jones New York and I can't find it online but I've put together some of my favorite quilted jackets I could find so maybe you can find one you like!

Holiday Gift Guide for Men

Gifts for Men
Holiday Gift Guide for Men

The other day I walked into Marshall's and couldn't believe all of the holiday decor they had out already... Is it really just a few weeks away from Thanksgiving?! Before we all know it, it'll be time to start shopping for friends and family's Christmas gifts! Last year I waited 'til the last minute and it was not as fun as it should have been.  I can't always think creatively under time constraints so I've already started thinking about what I can give people this holiday season.  I put together a quick and simple gift guide for the men in your life to get your brains cranking for the holidays! I stumbled across this watch and a few other ideas so let me know what are some gift ideas for YOUR men! I would love to hear!

Quilted Leather + Blue Coat

Jacket: Old Navy; Scarf: Sole Society (similar); Quilted Leather Skirt: Banana Republic; Bag: H&M; Booties: Sole Society (also found at Marshall's)
I love a good coat for the fall and winter, especially if it's a unique color like this royal blue one from Old Navy for under $60.  Add a leopard scarf and you can't go wrong.  These suede booties and leopard scarf have been closet staples this fall and I've definitely gotten my use out of them.  I actually found these booties at Marshall's (by Vince Camuto) for a lot less than Sole Society's but they're identical.  Anyways, this weekend has been so relaxing and I'm about to start reading "Not That Kind of Girl" by Lena Dunham.  I've heard good things about it so we'll see. One thing I've been wanting to try and improve upon is making time to read more... It's just so nice and calming!  Do y'all have any good book recommendations?

Have a great Sunday!

Cozy in Camel

One of my favorite things to wear in the fall and winter is a poncho... When I think of the word poncho, I think of walking around in the rain at Busch Gardens with a big plastic sheet over my body.  But these days, ponchos have risen to stardom in the fashion world.  You can find endless options of timeless ponchos in all patterns and materials at stores all over.  TJ Maxx has a ton of cute ones but I found a pretty cheap option (and great quality!) at H&M the other day for less than $30.  A favorite way to wear a poncho of mine is layering over a light long-sleeve turtleneck.  It just looks and feels so cozy!

Hope y'all have a wonderful week!

Shades of Orange

October and the color orange go hand in hand with one another.  Most people automatically start thinking of shades of orange and maroon once October and November roll around and a feeling of warmth and coziness comes along with it.  Unfortunately this week I've been immersing myself in a different shade of orange... Vitamin C chewables, clementines, orange juice, Emergen-C.  It has been a busy past few weeks and it has taken a toll on the bod.  Luckily, I have found this Kate Spade dress to brighten up my life and wore it to a wedding in Pinehurst, NC last weekend.  You can say I was feeling 'pretty in the pines'.  Of course, the day I decide to finally blog about it, the website sells out of them so I can't find it anywhere online anymore.  Feel free to ebay away though and search 'Kate Spade Saturday Cut Out Flare Dress". You should still check out KS Saturday though because they have some great quality and stylish clothes.

PS- These DSW shoes are probably the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned and I plan to wear 'em again this weekend to a wedding.  You can't pass up a cute pair of shoes that you can bust a move in.

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

Flannel Season

It got below 60 degrees this weekend; therefore, I declare it is flannel season. This blue and green flannel from Old Navy is one of my favorite flannel shirts I've ever seen.  When it gets really cold, it's always a good idea to layer with a puffer vest too.  This one I down below is actually from J. Crew last year so the color options are a little different now.  I linked up a pretty ivory color and don't forget to check out these at J. Crew Factory to save a little money.

PS. If you've ever seen a Renegade Cluster Bracelet from Stella & Dot but didn't want to spend $60 on an elastic bracelet... look no more.  Check this one out at Accessory Jane for less than $20!

Shirt: Old Navy; Vest: J. Crew (similar.. color discontinued); Sunglasses: Ray-Ban; Spike Bracelet: Accessory Jane; Watch: Anne Klein (similar); Boots: Ralph Lauren
