Wear Now and Later

Today I'm sharing a couple looks featuring J. McLaughlin's new Wear Now collection, inspired by high quality and timeless pieces that'll take you from cool summer nights to those breezy fall mornings. With how fast time flies, it'll be fall before you know it and I don't know about you but I've recently been going through my closet and seeing what I need/don't need/etc. One thing that every girl should have in her closet: a sweater that will last!

Get the look:

Leopard Print & Lace-up Flats

Two things I thought I'd be tired of by now when it comes to style - ruffles and leopard print. I'm definitely not even close to being done with these two trends. In fact, I don't even know if I'd call them trends since they are both pretty classic looking in my opinion. Maybe I'll look back in a year and wonder what I was thinking but for now, I love them! I wore this cropped ruffle sleeve blouse and leopard print A-line skirt yesterday along with some lace-up flats which were under $25 and shockingly comfortable.

Perfect Spring Dress

A couple weeks ago, I talked about a Bouquets and Bubbly event I hosted with Kendra Scott and Zelle and you might notice that this ruffle mini shift dress was what I wore that night! I have always loved ruffle sleeved anything - tops, dresses, swimsuits, you name it.  You can bet that when I saw this affordable soft peachy one, I put my free 2 day delivery at ASOS to use.  I paired it with some completely random colored teal suede pumps because why not?! I love pairing two totally unexpected colors together to get a unique outfit that nobody else would do.

Happy New Year, y'all!

This is my first post of 2016 and I have to say, I am excited for a new and exciting year ahead.  I was looking back at last year's New Year's post and I was happy to see how much I stuck to my "resolutions".  Another fun idea of goal setting you might like -- 101 in 1001

Anyways,  I wanted Pretty in the Pine's first post of the year to incorporate this fabulous faux fur coat and a stunning navy blue short-sleeved velvet dress! I like to think this outfit exemplifies the style of this blog- classic yet chic.

Dress With The Fur

Blue has always been my favorite "color".  I say "color" because I love some grey and white but if I had to choose an actual color, it would definitely be blue.  When I saw this navy blue faux fur scarf in stores, I knew I had to have it.  I just couldn't agree to the price tag so I waited until Black Friday to order it online.  I'd keep a look out to see if it goes on sale again because this fur scarf is a winter must have! Not to mention, this teal turtleneck swing dress is the most comfortable weekend dress I own.

Pretty in Plaid

plaid sweater dress, fall outfit, fall style, asos plaid turtleneck dress, dark green dress, tan suede booties, sole society, ASOS, Vera Bradley, quilted leather satchel, black floppy hat, winter outfit, trends for fall, fashion blogger, raleigh, north carolina bloggerI've always been drawn to plaid and checkered patterns for some reason.  I think its because I associate the classic pattern with fall and winter, which makes me think of the holidays, which makes me think of home and family.  Anybody else?  This green plaid turtleneck dress sortof reminds me of a wrapped up Christmas gift! Anyways, I absolutely love it.

Ruffles & Layered Pearls

Off Shoulder Frill Dress (only $68 and available in light red/coral) || White Wedges: Jessica Simpson || Gigi New York 'Carly' Clutch || Pearl Statement Necklacesimilarlove this too

Happy Monday, everyone! Today I am sharing this off the shoulder dress that I found online a while back that immediately drew my attention.  I've always been drawn to anything with ruffles and frills but this dress is a little more 'statement-y' than most ruffles I've seen.  The gorgeous sage color is SO unique and screams spring and summer.  I love how light weight the dress is and can be dressed up or down for any occasion.  I paired it with my white Jessica Simpson wedges and pearl statement necklace to complete this look and I'll definitely be wearing this several times this summer!

I think the warmer weather is here to stay! (*crosses fingers*).  I have quite a few trips to the beach planned this summer and I can't help but think ahead of what I'm going to pack!  There are a few trends I've been seeing a lot of lately: tassels and pom-poms... and I don't hate either! Embellished sandals are also really in this year and I've seen a TON of really cute ones at Target for under $30 like these.  I've always loved anything palm print so when I saw this palm bikini, I had to share it with y'all!

I hope everyone had a happy Easter yesterday.  I played some tennis, baked some berry scones, and prepared for the week ahead because it is going to be a long one.  Speaking of Easter, if you are in the Raleigh area and are looking for a church to go to- I highly recommend Hope.

Have a great week!

Back in Black

Black is always in style and one should always have a go-to little black dress in their closet.  Trust me, I am ALL about colorful clothes, pinks and teals, but sometimes the look of a classic black dress is all you need to feel confident and beautiful.  This past weekend, I was helping out with a good friend's wedding and was asked to wear a black dress.  Well, at the time, I really didn't have many black dresses and wasn't quite sure what to wear.  I ended up looking on Rent the Runway (as usual for these types of events) and wore this Trina Turk Sonoma Lace Laurel Dress. I loved the lace peplum detail and I felt different wearing all black and no pink or patterns.  It was a good different though.  There are so many gorgeous black dresses that I am loving this season especially this French Connection Crepe Frill Hem dress.

Today, I have the day off work and plan on getting A LOT done around my apartment.  I am looking forward to this spring weather this week and am so happy that April is here.  April is actually a pretty non-busy month for me and I am pumped about it.

Thanks for reading!

The Pink Skirt

I can't get enough of midi skirts lately... they are just so timeless and fun! I paired my Pink Midi Scuba Skirt (FYI this is $16 now) with some grey pieces to make a soft-colored, more neutral outfit.  I am SO glad it is Friday finally... this week has felt longer than usual and I think it has been the cold and snowy weather.  Spring is almost here which also means baseball is just around the corner.  This weekend, we'll be celebrating my boyfriend's best friend's baseball journey as he leaves to go to spring training.  We're going to one of our favorite spots in Raleigh (Cloud's Brewing) and I can't wait.

I've linked some pretty cute midi skirts down below incase you've been thinking about getting one. The BEST place to find them though is Chicwish- such a huge variety of pretty prints! Hope you all have a happy friday and a wonderful weekend.

What to Wear on NYE

NYE Dresses

New Years Eve is just around the corner and I finally have some solid plans made to ring in 2015.  The only part I don't have figured out yet is what exactly I'm going to wear.  New Years Eve is that one night (besides your birthday) when you can go above and beyond your normal holiday attire.  I'm talking sparkles, feathers, embellished jewels, lace, etc.  I am looking forward to SO many things in the next year and cannot wait to spend the last night of 2014 with some of my favorite people.  But first, let's all have a wonderful week before Christmas! How is it already time? I can't wait to take some time off work and relax with my family this week.  I also have a little weekend Anniversary getaway to my favorite spot next weekend planned.  Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!
